8U is a nonprofit organization which is completely supported by you, the community. Our servers are run and owned by our members. We encourage everyone to contribute in anyway that they can to ensure that our servers and website stay running. For those of you who can, we ask that you make a monetary contribution in whatever denomination you would like, every little bit counts. When we have made a profit, we’ve add additional performance or features to our servers, or we open more servers.

Why donate?

Q) What is the point in donating?
Well the point is to support the community so it can build and expand. By donating to 8U you help ensure that our game servers and our new website remain online. That’s why any amount you donate to us will be very much appreciated by our members. Donating to support 8U is a noble commitment to the community.

Q) Are there any benefits to donating?
A) We are in the process of building up a package of features that the detonator will be able to gain access when they play on our game servers. As you can imagine we’ve very busy recently with building the website, so this has been put on the back burner for the time being. The plan is to have a separate donation package for each game server, with their own unique features and benefits. You will then be able to either donate for one package, a few of them, or all the packages together for one price!

Q) How do I donate?
A) You’ll need a PayPal account and following the donation button on this page, or on the left-hand side panel of the website, this will send you to our PayPal page, where you can enter the amount you wish to give. Some people within 8U have even asked to be given monthly reminders to donating so they don’t forget. We have therefore created a subscribe option if you wish to used this instead.

Q) Is it possible to donate without PayPal?
A) If you do not have a PayPal account, as PayPal will let you donate if you have a Credit or Debit Card (also know as bank cards), that’s is from any of the following:

Visa/Delta/Electron
MasterCard/Eurocard
Maestro
American Express
PayPal Top Up Card

Q) How much should I donate?
A) Currently, the amount is totally up to you. When we do sort out the ‘Donation Packages’, people who donate more, will get the packages for longer. Below is a guide to help you decide how much to donate: Below is a guide to help you decide how much to donate:

£2.50, $4.00 or €3.00 per month donation
$4.00! Think about how much that is? I find that much at least in my pocket everyday. Why not use that spare change to donate to 8U?

£5.00, $8.00 or €6.00 per month donation
Eighth bucks a month. What is that? It’s nothing. America is 14.5 TRILLION dollars ($14,500,000,000,000,000,000) in debt. Compared to that, five bucks is NOTHING. Can’t you donate next to nothing to your favourite community and clan?

£7.50, $12.00 or €9.00 per month donation
Twelve dollars a month! Again, not that much. Most kids get this amount for their allowance every week, we’re just asking for that amount from you only once a month!

£10.00, $16.00 or €12.00 per month donation
Sixteen bucks a month, this would be a generous amount to give The donation might be high for some people but consider this; you will be helping 8U in a huge way.

Q) Where do the donations go towards in 8U?
A) All donations go towards:

* The five game servers:
Team Fortress 2 – Community server
Team Fortress 2 – Match server
Garry’s Mod server
Left 4 Dead 2 server
Minecraft server.

* GameMe Stats for the Team Fortress 2 community server.

* Our 50 slots Mumble voice/chat server.

* The webspace, plus any extras we wish to add to the website to improve it.
